Description: Blasticidin S Sterile Filtered Solution, is isolated from Streptomyces griseochromogenes and is an antibiotic commonly used in gene selection. Blasticidin S is active against both propkaryotic and eukaryotic. Resistance to blasticidin is conferred by the blasticidin resistence gene from bacillus cereus (bsr). Bsr codes for blasticidin deaminase.
