Description: CDNF (conserved dopamine neurotrophic factor) is a new neurotrophic factor (like GDNF) for dopaminergic neurons. Mouse CDNF encodes a 187 amino acid protein with predicted signal peptides. It is expressed in adult brain, heart, skeletal muscle and testis. CDNF has beneficial effects on mature dopaminergic neurons in a murine model of Parkinson’s disease.
