Description:
Product is used to screen caspase inhibitors, to determine target substrate, and as positive control in caspase assays. Also found useful to study enzyme regulation and inhibitors. Recommended use 1unit/assay for caspase activity analysis.
Solubility / Storage:
Reconstitute with PBS containing 15% glycerol to 1 U/ul. Store at -80C, avoid freeze/thaw cycles. After reconstitution aliquot and store -80C.
Formulation:
Produced in E.coli. Lyophilized.
Specific Activity:
~20,000U/mg protein. One unit defined as the amount of enzyme that cleaves 1nmol of the caspase substrate YVAD-pNA per hr. at 37C in a reaction solution containing 50mM HEPES, pH 7.2, 50mM sodium chloride, 0.1% CHAPS, 10mM EDTA, 5% glycerol and 10mM DTT.
