Dyes, Stains & Fluorescent Probes
AG Scientific: A Leader in Dyes, Stains & Fluorescent Probes
Dyes are colored substances whichhave an affinity to their substrate.
Stains are discoloration that are distinguished from the material or surface it is found upon. Two different materials interact chemically or physically and make stains. Staining is used for biochemical research to highlight structures in biological tissues for viewing.
Fluorescent probes are a class of molecules used for cell exploration; they consist of a bioactive molecule and a fluorophore. The bioactive molecule attaches to its receptor or protein and a specifically selected fluorophore absorbs a specific wavelength of energy, revealing complex structural components and regulatory mechanisms of cells.
