Kainic Acid is an excitatory amino acid receptor agonist selective for kainate receptor subtype; conformationally restricted analog of L-glutamic acid, available in a natural or synthetic form.

Wortmannin is a fungal metabolite that specifically inhibits phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI-3), mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and myosin light-chain kinase (MLCK).

NBQX is a potent and selective AMPA/Kainate receptor antagonist. NBQX is also neuroprotective agent.
