Anti-fungal antibiotic which inhibits Protein Synthesis. Also activates p54, MAP Kinases and Stress-Activated Protein Kinases. Used in Martin-Lewis Medium to inhibit C. albicans and aid in identification of N. gonorrhoeae. Anti-protozoal agent.
