Diaphorase NADPH histochemistry provides a specific histochemical marker for neurons producing nitric oxide. This method has been used to examine neurons in Huntington disease, Alzheimer disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, and ischemia. The source of Diaphorase NADPH is Bacillus Megaterium bacteria.
